Holiday Break

Over break, my uncle took me to his office in New York City. He walked around with me and my cousins. We went to the m&m store, Disney store, and then saw his office that overlooked Times Square. After that, we walked around more, got food, and saw the Rockefeller tree. I love New York so it was really fun!

Other than that, I didn't do much. I hung out with some of my friends a couple times. For the most part, I layed in my bed and watched Netflix. My older brother took me to IHOP when he got home from college. Also, I babysat my younger cousin and her friends. Overall, my break was good but uneventful.

My favorite restaurant is Shake Shack. It is a chain restaurant located on 479 New Jersey 17 Paramus, NJ. They serve gourmet takes on fast-food classics like burgers and fries, and frozen custard. From the beginning the restaurant was not meant to be a chain, but it was meant to be a single shop designed specifically for New York City. However, as the original locations sales continued to grow, the owner and his team realized that they could try to go for an expansion. Since it opened, Shake Shack has grown to be the largest part of the USHG's (Union Square Hospitality Group) portfolio. Its average store performance is $4 million which is more than twice of McDonald's average store performance within the United States. In addition to the USA locations, Shake Shack has locations in London, Istanbul, Moscow, Beirut and Dubai. Shake Shack is all about trying to go back to old fashioned burger joints with a more gourmet twist. One of their burgers are the ShackBurger which is a cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce. Another burger is the Shroom Burger which is a vegetarian option that is a crisp-fried portobello filled with muenster and cheddar cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. In adition to burgers, they sell hot dogs. One of their hot dogs is the Frisky Dog. It is a hot dog topped with spicy tomato-simmered onions and kraut. To see more options on their menu, go to their website. My favorite thing to get there is the Shroom Burger since I'm a vegetarian. If this restaurant was closed, I would probably go to Panera Bread because that is my second favorite restaurant. In conclusion, Shake Shack is a great burger place that takes you back to the past. The quote "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." by Mahatma Gandhi is inspiring. To me, it means that you have to go out and make a change. You can't just wait on other people to change the world as you sit and complain on how messed up the world is. One way I would want to improve the earth is by trying to save endangered species of animals. Also, by trying to rescue animals in cruel environments like some zoos. Another way I'd like to help improve the earth would be by making sure all children have an education available. Therefore, my goals when I'm older would be to either be a teacher so young children can grow up to have an education or to study to help endangered animals.

Do Now 12/2

I would add a swimming class to our school. I would also have to add a swimming pool. The class would meet on the weekends for practicing and sometimes meets. Also, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we would meet at school. You would have to try out to make it in the class. However there are not extremely high standards since this is a class and we know people are still learning.

The class would practice every weekend. Before meets, we would gather early and have a practice. At practices, the class would practice swimming faster than they can already. Also, they would work on diving. For warmups for the class they would do stretching and some forms of yoga. Overall, the class would be a fun way to make new friends, feel like part of a team, and help people have more swim skills.
